Building Survey

Our Instruction - To undertake a full building survey and produce a written report.

The Property - Detached period timber frame dwelling.

The Location - Essex.

We were instructed by our client to undertake a full building survey of a property they wished to purchase.

​

As a result of our inspection on site, we contacted our client and informed them of various serious issues present at the property.

 

Our advice was, given the extent and likely costs of remedial works required, not to proceed with the purchase of the property and that it would be pointless for us to proceed further with our written report.

​

This is a rare situation, but where we identify serious issues we always advise our clients accordingly.

​

We insisted that our clients did not pay us for the written report stage and only charged them a smaller percentage of the original agreed fee.

​
